My husband, children and I, after church, went outside last Sunday. It was fun. My husband made a bigger swing for the kids and had them swing. We kicked a ball around and we got to dig around in the garden.
We had three beautiful spring-like days where we could go outside without a jacket, and the soil wasn’t frozen. So we went in the garden, raked, dug, flipped the dirt around, just feeling so good. This is the earth. God made this. He allows us to be creative and allows us to plant seeds to produce food for our families. Wow! Even if it is work, it just makes you feel so good and it just made me feel so close to God. And so on and on went our thoughts.
The next day, though, what should come but snow! Ugh! Well, I guess we were trying to rush into spring, even though it wasn’t spring yet. The first day of Spring on the calendar? Yes. Nice weather? Yes. But it wasn’t time.
That day it came to me, and I thought, “What a great illustration!” So many times in my life, I looked around and felt it was time for something. Maybe something I felt God has shown me I would do or something He laid on my heart. I’ve done it tons of times. I would get ready. I would prepare, pull things out of places, renew my heart, get motivated, try to change my life and be ready for the big change. Start “digging”, getting the “soil” ready. And eventually (again) I would find out that it wasn’t time yet. It’s not far off like it was before but it is not NOW.
I was blessed to know God really is in control of my life and knows the perfect time for things. I’m where I am suppose to be. So, while I’m waiting, I try to keep up the everyday, seemingly hunky dory stuff (which actually is so much more). But yeah, you might be in that season where you think the time is NOW. Keep praying. You may think the signs are right, but it may not be the time. Just know, God is with you and even through the waiting, He will help you.
“Praise God to whom all blessings flow, praise Him all creatures here below, praise…ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”
God Bless and have a great week!
