Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve written and I am so sorry! Life kind of hit a curve ball. I am finally at my 3 month period and am feeling better and not sleepy, and feel more up to trying to get this blog going again!
That included homeschooling. I had a few weeks where we did hardly anything, and Christmas was coming up, and all my well-laid plans of how this year would look flew out the window (I forgot that was what pregnancy did to you!). And I just have to say, I am so happy that I’ve gotten any school done with my kids this week. It’s acutally happening!
So what have we been doing?
The basic math, language arts, and math drills.
But then…we started this great Unit Study by Amanda Bennett called Passport: France (Scout)!
And within three days we’ve only gotten through Day 1! But it is so packed with information that we learned a bit about the mountains in the northeast, we looked at Paris sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, etc. We learned about who built the Eiffel Tower, some of the food of Paris and how to say hello and count in French.
Also who started the whole hot air balloon idea and that beavers are one of the animals in France! (And I thought only America and Canada had them).
I guess near the end of this week we will be going into the Alps in France and go into more of the country next week.
The plan within in the next week is to make a bunch of French food. (I love when we can truly add this element to schooling!). So far crepes and Pan au Chocolat are on the list.
What does your home school look like right now?
