Yes, I am in my second trimester. Yes, I should have a second wind. But I feel tired, not wanting to get up and not very motivated!
So, I did something I hadn’t done in awhile: I set my timer for 15 minutes and just went for it!
I started at the dishes.
Did you know you could get through a good majority of your dishes in 15 minutes? I mean, I feed 6 people breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I got through SO MANY!
Eureka! I actually did something! (Beaming accomplishment!)
No, I am not always lazy. And no, my house is not always a mess, but it really does need some help once and awhile. When that no energy or lazy monster comes calling, I just say, “If I can just do it for 15 minutes, it will be okay!”
And it is! And it’s wonderful! Something actually gets done! Woohoo!
I don’t know if you are struggling with the house or getting things done. Most women I talk to feel they are behind in something. Pick the area you feel most behind and just pull out that timer! See what 15 minutes does. I bet it will make a bigger dent then you thought it would!
I had learned this little tip from FlyLady (you could see my 31 Day Challenge where I tried to implement her ideas for Baby Steps). This was one of the things that has always stuck with me when I feel overwhelmed. Remember, you can get a lot done in 15 minutes. Even with children, or babies, or anything! Maybe you work all the time. 15 minutes does wonders!
So, be inspired today to just time yourself for 15 minutes and see what you get done!
